A Stroll Through Time

(Sorry about the cheesy title- couldn't resist!)  Evie fell asleep in the stroller on our walk yesterday, and of course I had to take a picture.  Looking at the picture, I realized just how big she is now.  It reminded me of how tiny she was when we started our neighborhood strolls, back when she was only a few weeks old and I was still on maternity leave.  It's not a true comparison since the stroller is different and she's covered up in the first photo, but you can get the idea!

Here she is at only 3 weeks old...

And here she is now...

What a difference 46 weeks makes!!

Eleven Months Old

Wow.  It is hard to believe that in less than one month, Evie will be one year old!  Our sweet baby girl is really growing up.  She has gotten good at pulling up and can even walk her way down the coffee table while holding on.  She climbs stairs like a pro, too, and easily gets all the way to the top.  She's still not sure about coming back down, though.  She weighs about 25 pounds and is eating more food and taking less bottle.  She still loves fruit, is getting better about veggies, and she loves whole wheat bread even more than cheerios.  She likes water and can easily drink from a sippy cup.  We even tried organic whole milk this weekend, and she liked it.  She's still pointing all the time, and usually refers to things as "da."  I can only imagine she's trying to say "that," but who knows.  She clearly understands pretty much everything we say to her.  After her bottle, I always ask, "where's my burp?" and now she will fake burp and look at me and smile.  It cracks me up every time!  Aside from the fake burping :), she is already a girly girl.  She knows what to do with necklaces and bracelets, and she is very proud of herself while wearing either.  She also knows that bows go in her hair, and while she'll still pull them out, I can usually get her to leave it alone for a while if I tell her it looks very pretty.  And, of course, she loves dolls (although Baby Huggums is not as favored as she used to be).  By now it goes without saying, but she is such a joy, and we are so thankful for her!
As for the pictures this month, Evie was a better and easier subject than last month.  However, Molly and her bright red soft claws photo-bombed almost every shot!  :)   I'll have to crop her out before I have these printed.  Always something!

Feeling Better

Evie came down with a fever last week and had a cough that wouldn't go away.  Her doctor diagnosed her with a double ear infection and gave her an antobiotic to clear everything up (in shot form, thank goodness, since she literally thows up all oral medication including infant Tylenol- nice).  Her fever went away shortly thereafter and she was feeling almost 100% by the weekend.  She still has an occasional cough, but she is definitely back to being herself, as evidenced below.  :)

She climbs all the way to the top now!

Wardrobe Wednesday (Verison 2.0)

In case you haven't noticed (all three of you regular readers:)), Wardrobe Wednesdays have fallen by the wayside.  Evie is a lot harder to catch these days, and getting a good posed shot where she is sitting still and looking at the camera (not to mention smiling and not pointing/blinking/fussing, etc.) takes a LOT more time than we have every morning.  Being frustrated and late is not generally the best way to start each day!  But I hate to not do regular postings, so here are a couple action outfit shots from this week.  I'll try to get better about taking more of these.

These pink jeans are TOO much!  I think they're the cutest thing.

You'd never know she wasn't feeling well if it weren't for those pink cheeks!
